The Beginning
D.R. McArthur opened the store in 1901. The following photo shows the beginnings of D.R. Mc Arthur and
Company Hardware, which would later become Weld County Garage.

1930’s
During the 1930’s GM makes even more high quality, beautifully designed and stylish vehicles. One of the more gorgeous and affordable 1930’s vehicles is the Chevrolet 1935 Master De Lux .


1940’s
The 1970’s brought the Chevy Vega and the Chevy Blazer to The Garage in Greeley, CO. Chevrolet had long made versatile vehicles that were ideal for any occasion or use, but the 4 Wheel Drive Blazer now available with a V8 engine and capable of towing up to 6000 pounds was another GM game changer.

The Weld County Tribune recognizes The Garage as “Weld County’s Best Automobile Dealer” in 1994.
Additionally, in 1996, following many years of Weld County Garage being an important fixture on the city
of Greeley, CO. The Weld County Garage Sign is added to the City of Greeley Colorado Historic Preservation Commission and receives a plaque, recognizing the sign that has stood, and still stands in Greeley, CO, since 1949.
