Quick Answer

Weld County Garage’s annual Trunk or Treat is Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at 2699 47th Ave in Greeley. It’s free and open to the public, with no RSVP and no age limit. Kids trick-or-treat indoors at 10 to 15 decorated vehicles in our climate-controlled showroom.

Families trick-or-treating in the fog-filled Weld County Garage showroom during a past Trunk or Treat, with a table of RC trucks in the foreground.

Halloween in Northern Colorado is a coin flip. Some years it’s 65 and sunny. Other years the costume ends up buried under a snow coat. So for around 15 years now, we’ve cleared out our showroom, parked a row of decorated trucks and SUVs inside, and invited the whole community in to trick-or-treat where it’s warm, dry and well lit.

It started small. These days, between 1,500 and 2,500 kids and parents come through in a single afternoon, and it keeps growing.

What to Expect

A Weld County Garage team member holds a bowl of candy beside a classic car with a pumpkin patch scene in its trunk as costumed trick-or-treaters walk past.

Walk in and you’ll find 10 to 15 vehicles lined up through the showroom. Each one has a decorated scene built into its trunk or truck bed, and each one has candy. Some vehicles are ours. Others are brought in and decorated by local businesses and organizations.

The rest of the showroom gets the full treatment too:

  • Halloween decorations from one end of the building to the other
  • A fog machine and Halloween music
  • Our entire staff in costume
  • Plenty of spots for photos, so bring your phone

And it’s all indoors. No crossing streets in the dark, no shivering between houses.

Know Before You Go

It’s free, and you don’t need to sign up

There’s no ticket, no registration and no RSVP. Show up any time between 2:00 and 4:00 PM.

Parking

We clear a large section of our lot for free public parking. Follow the signs when you pull in.

The line

It often stretches out the door and around the building. Don’t let that scare you off. It moves quickly. You will be outside for a bit though, so bring a jacket if the weather turns.

Costumes

Wear one. Kids, parents, grandparents, everybody. Masks are fine. Prop weapons are fine too, as long as they don’t look too realistic.

Ages

There’s no age limit. Toddlers in strollers and big kids are both welcome.

Bring a bag

With 10 to 15 stops, a bucket or bag for candy is a good idea.

“We love that our community trusts us as a safe place for every kid to trick-or-treat. Families keep coming back, and the event gets bigger every year. We’re thankful for that. This is one small way we can give back to the community we’ve been serving since 1908.”

Ryan Green, Director of Marketing, Weld County Garage GMC
